December...Ho Ho Ho

December 22nd, 2013:

I hope everyone is having a wonderful December so far. I feel like it was just the other day when I wrote my Thanksgiving blog however several weeks have already passed us by. Work is going well for me, I am finished with orientation and doing evening and night shifts now. I am not a morning person so I'm glad I can sleep in a little later. The next few weeks I will do evenings then I will go to straight overnights (7p-7a). Other than work I've been busy learning how to ski on my off days...so far I really enjoy it. Each time I go out I gain more confidence and have more fun. I also found a local yoga place only 7 minutes down the road from our apartment so I've been going there about once per week. We have our Christmas tree lit up which I love having...makes me happy. It's relaxing in our living room, we can watch the fire and see the Christmas tree at the same time. It's the little things to get us through this holiday season away from our family.

Scott found a new job while waiting for the teaching season to start on the mountain. He has been working at a store making ski poles out of bamboo. The business uses recycled plastic for the baskets of the skis and have an eco-friendly mind set. He likes working there. Tomorrow he is starting to teach skiing at The Canyons.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a very happy new year!

Until next time,
Heidi
